Proofpoint, Inc., a global cybersecurity and compliance company, has announced the worldwide availability of its Nuclei Discovery & Archive Suite, a new digital communications governance and archiving (DCGA) solution tailored specifically for small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The cloud-native platform is designed to help lean IT and compliance teams address increasing regulatory, e-discovery, and operational demands as digital communications expand across email, collaboration tools, mobile messaging, and social platforms. With many smaller organizations facing limited budgets and staffing constraints, the Nuclei Suite combines rapid deployment, enterprise-grade functionality, and cost-effective subscription pricing.
According to data cited by Proofpoint, more than half of small businesses say regulatory compliance requirements negatively impact their growth, while nearly half report spending excessive time on compliance-related tasks. The Nuclei Suite aims to ease this burden by enabling administrators to deploy the solution and begin capturing data within minutes.
The platform features a unified administrative interface for managing users, policies, ingestion, and reporting. Proofpoint also manages ongoing updates, helping reduce maintenance overhead. Organizations can ingest legacy data and scale subscriptions to accommodate additional users, communication channels, or archive storage as needs evolve.
Despite its SMB focus, the solution includes enterprise-grade capabilities such as intuitive search, litigation hold functionality, built-in reconciliation and reporting, and data export without additional fees. It also offers optional AI-driven supervision tailored to smaller organizations, eliminating the need for complex lexicons or manual rule maintenance typically required by traditional enterprise systems.
Integrated with Proofpoint’s Insider Threat Management capabilities, the Nuclei Suite delivers agent-based communications intelligence to identify conduct, compliance, and insider risks across more than 80 digital channels. For Microsoft 365 users, a single connection supports Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Viva Engage, and Copilot. Each subscription includes 10GB of pooled archive storage per user and connection, with options to expand as needed.
Proofpoint recently strengthened its market position by being named a Leader for the second consecutive time in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Communications Governance and Archiving Solutions, where 14 vendors were evaluated based on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision.
