Ethiopian Securities Exchange Launches “Neway” Web and Mobile Trading Platform
The mobile application is fully integrated with ESX’s Broker Back Office (BBO) and Order Management System, helping trading members streamline operations such as client onboarding, order management, and reporting.
The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) has launched “Neway / ነዋይ,” its first web and mobile trading platform, designed to expand access to the country’s capital markets. The platform aims to make investing more convenient and accessible for all investors, from first-time traders to seasoned market participants.
The launch follows ESX’s strategic partnership with technology provider Infotech Private Limited. The mobile application is fully integrated with ESX’s Broker Back Office (BBO) and Order Management System, helping trading members streamline operations such as client onboarding, order management, and reporting.
“Neway / ነዋይ” is investor-focused, allowing users to remotely onboard themselves, open trading accounts, monitor market trends, execute equity and fixed-income trades securely, and track their portfolios in real time. By reducing barriers to entry and lowering transaction costs, the platform is expected to broaden market participation and strengthen Ethiopia’s capital market ecosystem.
“This day represents a significant milestone in the realization of our vision of building a world-class securities exchange in Ethiopia. With the launch of ‘Neway,’ investors can now access the market anytime and anywhere. The name ‘Neway’ itself means wealth or asset, and this platform truly democratizes it. By putting the market in the hands of every Ethiopian, we are empowering them to participate directly in the country’s economic growth, while making capital market participation more inclusive, transparent, and efficient.”
– Tilahun Esmael Kassahun (PhD), CEO, ESX
The adoption of the platform is expected to improve operational efficiency for trading members while giving investors seamless access to the market. Through this initiative, ESX aims to make Ethiopia’s capital markets more transparent, efficient, and globally competitive.
