Kenya Expands Digital Access with Launch of Siaya Community Hub
The new hub is designed to equip young people with essential digital skills and open pathways for innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment.
President William Ruto officially launched the Siaya Community Digital Hub in Bondo Town, a strategic initiative aimed at expanding digital access and creating opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs across the region.
The event was attended by key government leaders, including Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy William Kabogo, as well as Principal Secretaries Stephen Isaboke (Broadcasting and Telecommunications) and Eng. John Tanui (ICT and the Digital Economy).
The new hub is designed to equip young people with essential digital skills and open pathways for innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment. The facility offers internet connectivity, digital training, and access to online services, supporting Kenya’s ongoing expansion of digital infrastructure and services to communities.
Among its flagship programs, the hub will host Studio Mashinani, a government initiative that decentralizes content creation and media production by providing local creatives and youth with grassroots-level digital production facilities. The initiative aims to nurture local talent, strengthen community storytelling, and boost participation in Kenya’s growing digital and creative economy.
With the launch of the Siaya Community Digital Hub, the government reinforces its commitment to empowering young people and fostering a digitally inclusive future for all Kenyans.
