Ghana SEC Publishes Regulatory Sandbox Licensing Guidelines 2026
The initiative aims to support innovation in the Ghanaian capital markets, particularly in areas where existing legal or regulatory provisions are absent, evolving, or insufficient.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Ghana has released the Securities Industry (Regulatory Sandbox Licensing) Guidelines 2026. These guidelines establish a framework for issuing Regulatory Sandbox Licences, enabling firms to test innovative capital market activities, products, services, business models, and market infrastructure in a controlled environment.
The initiative aims to support innovation in the Ghanaian capital markets, particularly in areas where existing legal or regulatory provisions are absent, evolving, or insufficient. At the same time, the framework emphasizes investor protection, market integrity, and financial stability, ensuring that experimentation does not compromise the broader financial system.
