Airtel Uganda Supports 20 STEM Students with Scholarships and Laptops

Airtel Uganda  has expanded its education support initiative through the Airtel Africa Foundation,  awarding scholarships to 20 Ugandan students pursuing STEM programmes across leading universities. Beneficiaries of the programme are enrolled in institutions such as Makerere University, Uganda Christian University, Kyambogo University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, and ISBAT University.

The scholarship programme is designed to remove financial barriers and enable students to focus fully on their academic pursuits, particularly in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—fields considered critical to driving innovation and economic development.

Building on this initiative, Airtel Uganda recently provided high-performance laptops to the scholarship recipients, equipping them with essential tools to support research, learning, and innovation throughout their studies. The move underscores the company’s commitment to not only funding education but also ensuring students have access to the digital resources required for success.

The programme is being delivered in partnership with Q-Sourcing Servetech, which is supporting the integrity and implementation of the scholarship scheme, and Brainchild Burson, which is contributing additional academic support and internship opportunities to help prepare students for the workforce.

Through this collaboration, Airtel Uganda and its partners aim to advance education, promote digital inclusion, and create meaningful opportunities for young people, reinforcing a shared commitment to developing future talent in Uganda.
