Overall, the forum underscores the shared ambition of Mauritius and Zambia to leverage technology as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic growth across Africa.

Zambia and Mauritius are set to strengthen digital and technology cooperation at the upcoming Mauritius-Zambia ICT Business Forum, scheduled for 23 March 2026 in Lusaka. The event is being jointly organized by the Zambia Development Agency  and the Economic Development Board Mauritius  as part of the broader Mauritius Africa Export of ICT Services Roadshow.

The forum will bring together government officials, industry leaders, and ICT companies from both countries to explore investment opportunities and foster strategic partnerships aimed at advancing Africa’s digital transformation agenda. It will also serve as a platform to deepen bilateral cooperation in key areas such as fintech, cybersecurity, e-governance, and broader digital innovation.

Mauritius’ Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Dr. Hon. Avinash Ramtohul, is expected to present the country’s vision for regional ICT collaboration. Meanwhile, Zambia’s Minister of Science and Technology, Hon. Felix Mutati, will officiate the event and engage in high-level discussions with his Mauritian counterpart to reinforce government-to-government ties.

The Economic Development Board Mauritius will lead a delegation of 11 private sector companies, which will participate in business-to-business (B2B) engagements with more than 70 Zambian enterprises. These interactions are designed to promote investment, knowledge exchange, and the development of innovative digital solutions across both markets.

ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa noted that the engagement comes at a critical time as Zambia continues to accelerate its digital transformation agenda and position itself as an attractive destination for technology-driven investment. He emphasized that the forum is expected to generate mutually beneficial partnerships that will drive innovation, create jobs, and strengthen local enterprise capacity.

The event will also include participation from key Zambian ministries, including Commerce, Trade and Industry, as well as Finance and National Planning. A showcase of Mauritius’ ICT capabilities will highlight advancements in fintech, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, while dedicated B2B sessions will provide a platform for deeper collaboration.

Overall, the forum underscores the shared ambition of Mauritius and Zambia to leverage technology as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic growth across Africa.
