Şahin noted that 5G will go beyond faster connectivity, serving as a foundation for national development across key sectors including healthcare, cybersecurity, education, and transportation.

Ebubekir Şahin has highlighted Turkey’s growing momentum in next-generation connectivity, emphasizing the transformative role of 5G in shaping the country’s digital future.

Speaking following a high-level gathering at the Presidential Complex, Şahin described the moment as a historic milestone in Turkey’s journey toward technological independence. The event, held under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, underscored the government’s commitment to advancing the “Century of Türkiye” vision through strategic investments in digital infrastructure and innovation.

Şahin noted that 5G will go beyond faster connectivity, serving as a foundation for national development across key sectors including healthcare, cybersecurity, education, and transportation. He stressed that the rollout of 5G aligns with Turkey’s broader National Technology Move, which prioritizes domestic production, innovation, and self-reliance in critical technologies.

He also highlighted Türk Telekom’s readiness to support the nationwide deployment of 5G, pointing to its extensive fiber network that spans all 81 provinces, as well as its experience in 5G applications and LTE infrastructure. According to Şahin, a significant portion of the company’s mobile base stations are already fiber-connected, positioning the operator to deliver high-capacity, next-generation services to customers.

Şahin concluded by expressing appreciation to President Erdoğan and government leaders for their vision and leadership in convening stakeholders and driving Turkey’s digital transformation agenda, reaffirming Türk Telekom’s commitment to enabling inclusive access to 5G and leading the country’s connectivity evolution.
