The discussions focused on strengthening partnerships in the digital economy, with emphasis on ICT development at the ward level, trade and investment promotion, tourism, the creative economy, and agriculture.

Kenya and Thailand have strengthened bilateral ties in the digital economy following the launch of the Thailand–Kenya Business Matching and Digital Partnership 2026, held at the Trademark Hotel.

The session was led by Kenya’s ICT leadership alongside a visiting Thai delegation, bringing together 14 ICT companies from Thailand and more than 50 ICT firms from Kenya for strategic matchmaking and collaboration. The engagement was supported by Kenya’s State Departments for ICT and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

The discussions focused on strengthening partnerships in the digital economy, with emphasis on ICT development at the ward level, trade and investment promotion, tourism, the creative economy, and agriculture. Both sides also explored expanding market access for Kenyan agricultural exports, including avocados, macadamia, and fresh flowers.

On the sidelines of the forum, bilateral talks were held to advance broader cooperation, including plans to reactivate the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC). The two countries also aligned on preparations for the 60th anniversary of Kenya–Thailand diplomatic relations in July 2027.

Officials described the initiative as part of efforts to position Kenya as a regional hub for digital innovation and strengthen global ICT partnerships.
