It also aligns with broader efforts to advance digital transformation by equipping regulators with the technical knowledge required to manage increasingly complex spectrum environments.

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA)  has organized a specialized training program on frequency spectrum monitoring techniques and methods, held from March 29 to April 2 through the Egyptian African Telecom Regulatory Training Center (EG-ATRC). The program brought together 46 participants from multiple countries, reinforcing regional cooperation in telecommunications regulation and capacity building.

The training reflects the NTRA’s ongoing role in supporting telecom regulatory development and strengthening institutional expertise across Africa and beyond. It also aligns with broader efforts to advance digital transformation by equipping regulators with the technical knowledge required to manage increasingly complex spectrum environments.

Key areas covered in the program included the fundamentals of spectrum monitoring, an overview of major monitoring stations and technologies, and advanced technical practices such as interference detection and electromagnetic field measurement techniques. These sessions were designed to enhance participants’ practical understanding of spectrum management and regulatory enforcement.

The program was delivered through the EG-ATRC, the first telecom regulation-focused training center in Africa. The center promotes knowledge exchange across ICT sectors and operates as a certified training provider under the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Academy, underscoring its role in strengthening the capacity of African regulators to support a growing digital economy.
