Senior officials from Yemen and Egypt have held high-level discussions aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in the communications and information technology sector, focusing on digital transformation, infrastructure development, and capacity building.
The meeting took place in Cairo’s New Administrative Capital, where Yemen’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Shadi Saleh Basra, met with Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Both sides discussed enhancing collaboration in key areas including digital infrastructure development, e-transformation initiatives, and human capacity development. The engagement was positioned as part of broader efforts to support sustainable development and accelerate digital modernization in both countries.
A key outcome of the discussions was the proposal to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that would establish a formal institutional framework for cooperation. The agreement is expected to activate joint programs, particularly in training, skills development, and technical exchange.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and agreed to continue coordination through technical visits and ongoing expert-level exchanges.
