Electric mobility company SPIRO has announced new strategic partnerships in Togo aimed at expanding financing access for customers purchasing electric motorcycles.
Through the collaboration, Millennium Microfinance will provide financing support to customers in Lomé, while URCLEC will extend similar services to regions outside the capital via its network of eight outlets.
Under the partnership model, the microfinance institutions will handle the full financing process, including customer verification (KYC) and credit assessment.
Meanwhile, SPIRO will focus on operational delivery, ensuring the availability of electric motorcycles and supporting infrastructure such as battery swapping stations.
The initiative is designed to make electric mobility more accessible across both urban and rural areas, while also improving affordability for riders. By lowering the financial barrier to entry, the partnerships are expected to create new income opportunities for motorcycle operators and small-scale entrepreneurs.
The move marks a significant step in scaling sustainable transport solutions in Togo, as SPIRO continues to expand its footprint and promote cleaner, commercially viable mobility alternatives across Africa.
