Kenya Strengthens Digital Economy Push as UK Firm One Node Signals Expansion Plans

The discussions underscored Kenya’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure, including investments in the digital superhighway, supportive pro-investment policies, and national digital skilling programmes aimed at building a competitive tech workforce.

Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to attracting investors as it continues to develop its digital economy and innovation ecosystem.

The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy,  Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, held a courtesy meeting at the Ministry Headquarters with representatives of One Node , who outlined plans to expand their operations in Kenya.

During the hybrid engagement, the company highlighted its interest in scaling activities in the country, citing growing international confidence in Kenya as a regional hub for technology and digital innovation.

The discussions underscored Kenya’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure, including investments in the digital superhighway, supportive pro-investment policies, and national digital skilling programmes aimed at building a competitive tech workforce.

The government noted that these initiatives, under current national leadership, are helping to create an enabling environment for innovation and positioning Kenya as a leading destination for technology-driven investment and growth.
