Through its participation, Ethio telecom reaffirmed its commitment to building a smarter, greener, and more digitally connected Ethiopia, positioning itself at the centre of the nation’s infrastructure evolution.

ethio telecom  has showcased its future-ready digital infrastructure solutions at the Ethiopian Infrastructure and Construction Week 2026, reinforcing its role in Ethiopia’s ongoing urban and technological transformation. The event, organised by the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure, serves as a key platform for assessing major national projects, aligning policy directions, and strengthening collaboration between public and private sector stakeholders.

At its exhibition stand, Ethio telecom presented a range of innovative technologies aimed at modernising urban development across the country. These included high-speed Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Fiber-to-the-Room (FTTR) connectivity solutions, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, telestream services, and advanced Smart City technologies. The company emphasised the integration of digital innovation with sustainable construction practices and green infrastructure.

A major highlight of the event was a keynote address delivered by Chief Technology Officer, Tariku Demssie. In his remarks, he outlined the company’s transformation strategy, describing its shift “beyond connectivity” towards becoming a key enabler of digital empowerment for individuals, businesses, and government institutions through world-class infrastructure and services.

He further noted that Ethio telecom’s network now covers approximately 99.8% of Ethiopia’s population, with around 80% supported by high-speed 4G technology. According to Demssie, strong telecommunications and digital infrastructure are essential foundations for modern construction, sustainable urban growth, and the development of smart, connected cities.

Through its participation, Ethio telecom reaffirmed its commitment to building a smarter, greener, and more digitally connected Ethiopia, positioning itself at the centre of the nation’s infrastructure evolution.
