The authority stated that the action forms part of its mandate to ensure compliance with national service quality standards across the telecommunications sector.

Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority  has announced regulatory action in response to concerns over the quality of internet services provided by Canalbox Rwanda,  following a series of customer complaints.

According to the regulator, the move follows a prior enforcement notice issued to the company. Canalbox Rwanda has now been formally invited to a regulatory hearing, where it is expected to provide clarifications on the reported service issues and present immediate corrective measures.

The authority stated that the action forms part of its mandate to ensure compliance with national service quality standards across the telecommunications sector. It also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and maintaining reliable internet services in the country.

Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority further encouraged members of the public to continue reporting any ongoing service quality concerns, noting that such feedback is essential for monitoring and enforcing industry standards.
