Algeria Launches 12-Week AI Training Programme for Advanced Skills Development

April 27, 2026
2 min read

The programme is designed as a shift from traditional training models toward a competency-based approach focused on project-oriented learning, experiential education, and simulation of complex professional environments.

The Ministry of Formation and Vocational Education  has announced the official launch of a new Artificial Intelligence training programme, in line with directives aimed at developing highly skilled talent in advanced and strategic disciplines. The initiative was unveiled during a ceremony attended by Naseema Arhab and Nour El-Din Khadir.

The programme is designed as a shift from traditional training models toward a competency-based approach focused on project-oriented learning, experiential education, and simulation of complex professional environments. According to the ministry, the goal is to develop highly specialised and operational human capital capable of integrating directly into high-value economic sectors.

The 12-week training course will combine intensive theoretical and technical instruction with practical project development. It will conclude with final applied projects evaluated under a strict performance framework based on merit, innovation, effectiveness, and measurable outcomes.

As part of the initiative, authorities also announced the establishment of the first business incubator within the National Institute for Professional Training. Located at the Centre of Excellence in the Digital Economy in Sidi Abdullah Al-Rahmaniyah, the incubator is intended to support start-ups, develop innovative ideas, and transform them into viable economic enterprises.

The ministry stated that the programme reflects a broader vision to modernise vocational training systems, enhance adaptability to future labour market needs, and prepare national talent for integration into global value chains and emerging digital economies.
