MTN Uganda Announces Appointment of Ebenezer Asante as Non-Executive Director

Mr. Asante is the MTN Group Senior Vice President, Southern & East Africa, Ghana and Sudan (SEAGHS) regions.

In accordance with Rule 36 of the Uganda Securities Exchange Listing Rules 2025, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of MTN Uganda Limited  (“MTN”) announces the appointment of Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante as a non – executive director with effect from 6 May 2026.

Mr. Asante is the MTN Group Senior Vice President, Southern & East Africa, Ghana and Sudan (SEAGHS) regions. He is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in telecommunications and management across Africa. Prior to this, he served as Vice President for the West and Central Africa (WECA) region, and subsequently as Vice President for the Southern and East Africa and Ghana (SEAGHA) region from September 2017 to December 2020. Mr. Asante also held Chief Executive Officer roles at MTN Ghana and MTN Rwanda, where he led strong financial and operational performance, while fostering people – focused leadership and sustainable business growth.

Before joining MTN, he held senior leadership positions in general management, commercial and business operations in different international markets at Unilever, building a reputation for developing talent, driving sustainable business growth and organizational transformation. He also serves as a director on several boards within the MTN Group and one external board.

Based on Mr. Asante’s profile, the Board is confident that he will be a valuable addition to its membership and will contribute immensely to the Board’s oversight role. The Board is pleased to have Mr. Asante join its membership and accordingly welcomes him to the team.
