The collaboration introduces Airtel Money payments on Stanbic Bank’s Point of Sale (POS) machines, enabling customers to make payments directly from their mobile wallets at merchant locations using their phones.

Airtel Zambia PLC  has announced a new partnership between Airtel Money  and Stanbic Bank Zambia  aimed at expanding digital payment solutions across the country. The collaboration introduces Airtel Money payments on Stanbic Bank’s Point of Sale (POS) machines, enabling customers to make payments directly from their mobile wallets at merchant locations using their phones.

The initiative allows businesses using Stanbic POS devices to accept Airtel Money payments seamlessly, offering greater convenience for both merchants and consumers. The move is expected to strengthen the adoption of cashless transactions and improve financial accessibility for customers who rely on mobile money services for everyday payments.

Speaking on the development, Airtel Money Country Director Andrew Chuma said the service provides customers with a simple, secure, and instant way to make payments using the mobile devices they use daily. He added that the partnership reflects Airtel Money’s commitment to delivering innovative and user-friendly financial solutions.

Stanbic Bank Zambia’s Head of Business and Commercial Banking, Chanda Mwila, described the collaboration as part of the bank’s ongoing investment in practical digital solutions. He noted that the partnership responds to the increasing demand for convenient and efficient payment methods among businesses and consumers.

The partnership between Airtel Money and Stanbic Bank is expected to contribute to the growth of a more connected and cash-light economy in Zambia, while supporting the country’s broader digital financial inclusion agenda.
