Telecom Namibia Appoints New Board of Directors Effective June 2026

The newly constituted Board, chaired by Mr Fimanekeni Petrus and supported by a team of experienced directors, assumes its role at a pivotal time for the organisation as it continues its transformation journey to strengthen operational performance, modernise infrastructure, and enhance customer experience.

Telecom Namibia  has announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors, effective 3 June 2026.

The newly appointed Board comprises Mr Fimanekeni Petrus (Chairperson), Ms Melanie Tjijenda (Deputy Chairperson), Mr Henock Immanuel (Director), Ms Maria Haipinge (Director), Prof Marvin Awarab (Director), and Mr Hasting Tjipueja (Director).

The newly constituted Board, chaired by Mr Fimanekeni Petrus and supported by a team of experienced directors, assumes its role at a pivotal time for the organisation as it continues its transformation journey to strengthen operational performance, modernise infrastructure, and enhance customer experience.

“We are honoured to take on this responsibility at such a critical juncture in Telecom Namibia’s evolution. The company and it’s previous Board of Directors, have laid a solid foundation for transformation, and as a Board, we are committed to strengthening governance, driving strategic execution, and ensuring that Telecom Namibia delivers sustainable value to its customers, shareholders, and the Namibian nation.”

Dr Shanapinda will work closely with the Board, Shareholder, and Executive Management to ensure a smooth and orderly leadership transition. The new Board will make further announcements as regards the appointment of the new CEO that will take office from 1 July 2026.
