The Government of the Republic of Zambia has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital transformation through strengthened international partnerships, following a high-level engagement between the Ministry of Technology and Science and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Zambia.

The meeting, held on June 3, 2026, at the Chinese Ambassador’s Residence in Lusaka, brought together officials from both sides to explore new opportunities for collaboration in technology, innovation, digital infrastructure, and capacity building.

The discussions were part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the Zambia–China Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership, with a particular focus on accelerating digital development, expanding ICT capabilities, and promoting knowledge exchange between the two countries.

Representing the Permanent Secretary, Eng. Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu, was the Director of Digital Communications, Nkula Mwanza, who reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that support inclusive digital growth and innovation.

He emphasized that technology plays a critical role in driving economic transformation, improving public service delivery, creating employment opportunities for young people, and enhancing Zambia’s competitiveness in the global digital economy.

The Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Han Jing, reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and expressed readiness to support joint initiatives in digital innovation, skills development, infrastructure expansion, and technology transfer.

Both parties noted that the engagement reflects a shared ambition to harness technology as a catalyst for sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
