Zamtel and Ericsson Sign MoU to Advance Private 4G and 5G Connectivity in Zambia

Zambia’s state-owned telecommunications operator, Zamtel, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ericsson to deliver private 4G and 5G connectivity solutions across the country, marking a significant step in Zambia’s digital transformation journey.
The agreement was formalized during a visit by an Ericsson delegation led by Alain Maupin, Head of Eastern and Northern Africa. The partnership is aimed at expanding access to secure, high-performance private network solutions that can support the growing connectivity needs of enterprises operating in key sectors of the Zambian economy.
Through the collaboration, Zamtel and Ericsson plan to deploy private 4G and 5G networks designed to provide businesses with enhanced network reliability, improved operational efficiency, and greater support for automation and innovation. Such solutions are expected to help organizations accelerate digital adoption while strengthening their ability to leverage emerging technologies.
