The achievement strengthens the company's position as one of Zambia's leading telecommunications and digital services providers and reflects growing investor confidence in its business performance, innovation strategy, and commitment to expanding digital and financial services.

Airtel Networks Zambia Plc  has achieved a significant corporate milestone, surpassing a market capitalisation of US$1 billion on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) as of 8 June 2026.

The achievement strengthens the company’s position as one of Zambia’s leading telecommunications and digital services providers and reflects growing investor confidence in its business performance, innovation strategy, and commitment to expanding digital and financial services.

Board Chairperson Lynda Mataka described the milestone as a testament to the collective efforts of customers, employees, shareholders, and partners who have contributed to the company’s growth. She said the achievement reinforces Airtel Zambia’s commitment to delivering sustainable value while expanding access to digital connectivity and financial inclusion across the country.

Managing Director Hussam Baday said reaching the US$1 billion market capitalisation mark demonstrates the trust stakeholders continue to place in the company. He noted that the milestone further strengthens Airtel Zambia’s commitment to investing in network expansion, digital innovation, and financial inclusion initiatives that support Zambia’s digital transformation agenda.

Airtel Zambia said it remains focused on providing reliable and affordable telecommunications services, broadening network coverage, and creating long-term value for stakeholders as demand for digital connectivity continues to grow.

The company added that continued investments in technology infrastructure and digital services will play a key role in supporting economic development and accelerating digital inclusion across Zambia.
