Speaking during the launch, Kabogo said the facility represents a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and creating opportunities for communities through technology-driven initiatives.

Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, has officially launched the Pasenga Digital Hub in OlKalou Constituency, Nyandarua County, marking another step in the government’s efforts to expand digital access and promote digital inclusion across the country.

Speaking during the launch, Kabogo said the facility represents a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and creating opportunities for communities through technology-driven initiatives. He noted that digital hubs play a critical role in equipping young people with the skills required to participate in the modern economy.

The Cabinet Secretary emphasized that the government remains focused on expanding access to digital infrastructure, promoting innovation, and creating employment opportunities through investments in information and communications technology. He added that such initiatives are aimed at empowering youth and supporting inclusive economic growth.

According to Kabogo, the Pasenga Digital Hub will provide local residents with access to digital tools, training opportunities, and internet-enabled services that can support education, entrepreneurship, and employment.

The launch of the facility aligns with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda, which seeks to enhance connectivity, increase digital literacy, and promote the use of technology as a driver of economic development.

Government officials said the establishment of digital hubs across the country is intended to ensure that more communities, especially those in rural areas, can benefit from digital opportunities and participate fully in Kenya’s growing digital economy.

The Pasenga Digital Hub is expected to contribute to skills development and innovation in Nyandarua County while supporting the government’s objective of creating a digitally empowered and economically productive populatio
