The achievement was recognized by Stanbic Bank Zambia, which congratulated the telecommunications operator on reaching the milestone and described it as a significant development for both the company and the Zambian economy.

Airtel Zambia  has reached a major corporate milestone after becoming the fourth company listed on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) to surpass a market capitalization of US$1 billion.

The achievement was recognized by Stanbic Bank Zambia , which congratulated the telecommunications operator on reaching the milestone and described it as a significant development for both the company and the Zambian economy.

Crossing the US$1 billion market capitalization mark places Airtel Zambia among a select group of publicly listed companies on the Lusaka Securities Exchange and underscores the company’s growing market value and investor confidence.

Stanbic Bank Zambia noted that the milestone reflects Airtel Zambia’s continued focus on innovation, growth and the delivery of long-term value within the country’s telecommunications sector.

The recognition also highlights the increasing importance of the telecom industry within Zambia’s capital markets, as digital connectivity and mobile services continue to play a central role in economic development and financial inclusion.

Airtel Zambia has expanded its presence in recent years through investments in network infrastructure, digital services and financial inclusion initiatives, helping to strengthen its position in the country’s telecommunications market.

The milestone comes at a time when telecom operators across Africa are increasingly attracting investor interest as demand for mobile connectivity, digital services and data-driven solutions continues to grow.

By surpassing the US$1 billion valuation threshold, Airtel Zambia joins a small group of companies on the Lusaka Securities Exchange that have achieved billion-dollar market capitalization status, reinforcing its position as one of Zambia’s leading corporate entities.
