Airtel Kenya Appoints Djibril Tobe as Managing Director
Tobe joins Airtel Kenya from Airtel Congo B, where he served as Managing Director, bringing with him more than 20 years of leadership experience across several African markets.
Airtel Kenya has announced the appointment of Djibril Tobe as its new Managing Director, effective 1 July 2026. He succeeds Ashish Malhotra, who has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Indus Towers Limited Africa after leading the Kenyan telecommunications operator.
The appointment was approved by the Board of Airtel Networks Kenya Limited as part of the company’s leadership transition. Tobe joins Airtel Kenya from Airtel Congo B, where he served as Managing Director, bringing with him more than 20 years of leadership experience across several African markets.
A seasoned telecommunications executive, Tobe is expected to lead Airtel Kenya’s next phase of growth, leveraging his extensive experience in driving business performance and expanding operations across the continent.
In announcing the appointment, Airtel Kenya welcomed Tobe to the organization and expressed confidence in his ability to build on the company’s achievements while continuing to deliver value to customers and stakeholders. The leadership transition takes effect on 1 July 2026.
