The partnership represents a significant milestone in promoting digital inclusion and expanding opportunities for vulnerable groups through technology-driven skills development.

Orange Foundation Sierra Leone  and ActionAid Sierra Leone  have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a Digital Skills Training Programme aimed at empowering persons with disabilities across the country. The partnership represents a significant milestone in promoting digital inclusion and expanding opportunities for vulnerable groups through technology-driven skills development.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will provide practical digital skills training to 150 persons with disabilities. The initiative is designed to enhance participants’ employability, support entrepreneurship, and foster greater economic independence by equipping them with the competencies needed to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

The MoU signing ceremony brought together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, underscoring a shared commitment to inclusive development. Among those in attendance were Orange Sierra Leone Chief Executive Officer Aicha Toure, Orange Foundation Director Annie Wonnie-Katta, ActionAid Sierra Leone Country Director Foday-Bassie Swaray, representatives from the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Sierra Leone Union on Disability Issues (SLUDI), and other distinguished guests.

Speaking through the partnership, Orange Foundation Sierra Leone and ActionAid Sierra Leone reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that persons with disabilities are not left behind in the digital age. The initiative reflects a shared vision of breaking down barriers to opportunity by promoting equal access to digital skills and creating pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

The collaboration highlights the growing importance of partnerships in advancing digital inclusion and demonstrates how innovation can drive social impact when it is guided by the principles of accessibility, equity, and inclusion.
