Morocco and UN Women Join Forces to Modernise Public Service Through Gender Inclusion
The collaboration also includes the operationalization of the Observatory of Equality for Women and Men in the Civil Service portal, which is expected to support the monitoring and promotion of gender equality across the public sector.
Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform has signed a new partnership agreement with UN Women to strengthen gender equality across the country’s public service, reinforcing efforts to build a more inclusive and equitable public administration.
The agreement was signed by Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni in Rabat on 30 June 2026 during the third edition of the Arab Public Administration Forum. It builds on years of collaboration between the Ministry and UN Women to integrate gender-responsive approaches into public sector human resource management.
Under the new partnership, the two organizations will implement initiatives aimed at increasing the representation of women in leadership positions, strengthening the capacity of female civil servants, and advancing equal opportunities within government institutions.
The collaboration also includes the operationalization of the Observatory of Equality for Women and Men in the Civil Service portal, which is expected to support the monitoring and promotion of gender equality across the public sector. In addition, the partners will develop measures to improve work-life balance for public employees.
The Ministry said the agreement reflects its continued commitment to modernizing public administration through policies that promote inclusion, skills development, and equal opportunities, positioning gender equality as a key driver of improved public sector performance and administrative reform.
