Airtel Zambia Appoints Rakesh Kumar Agarwal as Finance Director

In his new role, Agarwal will join Airtel Zambia's Executive Committee, where he will lead the company's finance function and help shape its financial strategy to support sustainable business expansion.

Airtel Zambia  has appointed Rakesh Kumar Agarwal as its new Finance Director, strengthening its executive leadership team as the telecommunications operator pursues its next phase of growth.

In his new role, Agarwal will join Airtel Zambia’s Executive Committee, where he will lead the company’s finance function and help shape its financial strategy to support sustainable business expansion.

The company said Agarwal brings decades of experience in financial leadership, corporate governance, and business transformation gained across multiple industries and international markets. His expertise spans finance strategy, operational management, and business partnering, positioning him to support Airtel Zambia’s long-term growth objectives.

Before joining Airtel Zambia, Agarwal served as Group Chief Financial Officer at JSW One. He has also held senior finance leadership positions at Metropolis Healthcare Limited and Bharti Airtel Limited, where he was involved in financial management, governance, and supporting the company’s operations across Africa.

Airtel Zambia said it expects Agarwal’s leadership and strategic expertise to strengthen the company’s financial foundations as it continues to expand its digital connectivity services and deliver sustainable growth. The operator added that his appointment aligns with its mission of transforming lives through digital connectivity while reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence.
