Madagascar’s MNDPT Donates 400 Laptops to Support Baccalaureate Examinations
By equipping institutions with modern digital tools, the ministry aims to support innovation in government services while contributing to the development of a more connected, modern and digitally enabled Madagascar.
The Ministry of Digital Development, Posts and Telecommunications (MNDPT) has donated 400 laptops to Madagascar’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESupRes) to support the preparation and management of the country’s Baccalaureate examinations, as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen digital transformation in the education sector.
The donation was made on 8 July following instructions issued by Prime Minister Mamitiana Rajaonarison during a meeting in Mahazoarivo, where he directed the relevant ministries to ensure the successful preparation of the national examinations. The initiative was formalised through the signing of an agreement between MNDPT Minister Mahefa Andriamampiadana and MESupRes Minister Prof. Ravonimanantsoa Ndaohialy Manda-Vy.
According to MNDPT, the 400 laptops will be used to support the preparation and administration of the Baccalaureate examinations, helping improve transparency, processing speed, service accuracy and data security throughout the examination process.
The ministry said the donation reflects the government’s recognition of young people as a national asset and its commitment to promoting education through investments in digital technologies. The initiative is expected to strengthen the digital capacity of education authorities responsible for managing one of the country’s most important national examinations.
MNDPT added that the donation reinforces its commitment to advancing the use of digital technology across education and public administration. By equipping institutions with modern digital tools, the ministry aims to support innovation in government services while contributing to the development of a more connected, modern and digitally enabled Madagascar.
