According to OADC, the Tech and Coding Club will provide students with hands-on opportunities to build coding and digital technology skills while preparing them for careers in one of the world's fastest-growing industries.

Open Access Data Centres (OADC)  has reaffirmed its commitment to developing Nigeria’s digital talent by supporting the launch of the Tech and Coding Club at the University of Lagos (UNILAG),  an initiative aimed at equipping students with practical technology and programming skills.

The launch event also marked the inauguration of Dr. Ayotunde (Tunde) Coker as the club’s patron, underscoring the importance of industry leadership in nurturing the next generation of technology professionals.

According to OADC, the Tech and Coding Club will provide students with hands-on opportunities to build coding and digital technology skills while preparing them for careers in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the practical skills required in today’s digital economy.

The company noted that programmes focused on digital skills development are essential to empowering young people to create innovative solutions, address local challenges and contribute to Nigeria’s ongoing digital transformation.

Congratulating the University of Lagos, the leadership of the Tech and Coding Club and its student members, OADC expressed optimism that the initiative will help cultivate future innovators, entrepreneurs and technology leaders who will play a key role in shaping Nigeria’s digital future.
