Schneider Electric to Power Iraq’s First Commercial Tier III Data Center
Designed and built to international standards, the carrier-neutral colocation data center will provide secure, scalable, and highly available digital infrastructure to support enterprises, financial institutions, telecommunications providers, cloud and technology companies across the country.
Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, announces a strategic collaboration with T964, a leading technology and connectivity investment group, to become the technology partner responsible for the power and cooling infrastructure of the T964 Data Center , Iraq’s first, largest, and most advanced commercial Tier III data center.
The facility marks a major milestone in the development of Iraq’s digital infrastructure landscape. Designed and built to international standards, the carrier-neutral colocation data center will provide secure, scalable, and highly available digital infrastructure to support enterprises, financial institutions, telecommunications providers, cloud and technology companies across the country.
The collaboration brings together Schneider Electric’s global leadership in resilient and sustainable data center solutions with T964’s expertise in digital infrastructure and connectivity. Together, the two organizations aim to support the growing demand for world-class digital infrastructure while accelerating Iraq’s digital transformation ambitions and enabling the next generation of digital services.
Following a comprehensive evaluation of leading global technology providers, T964 chose Schneider Electric to deliver the facility’s critical power and cooling infrastructure, helping ensure operational resilience, energy efficiency, and long-term scalability. Schneider Electric will provide the technologies required to support continuous operations while enabling greater visibility, reliability, and performance across the facility.
In Phase 1, the data center will feature 340 racks across flexible pods and cages, with scalable capacity growing from launch up to 12 MW as demand increases. Supported by 84 MW of on-site power and multiple independent internet sources, the facility is being developed to deliver high levels of availability and business continuity for mission-critical workloads meeting the stringent requirements of the Uptime Institute.
As Iraq’s first commercial Tier III data center, the project is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem by enabling cloud adoption, enhancing connectivity, supporting business continuity, and providing the infrastructure foundation required for future economic growth and innovation

The project is currently progressing according to schedule, with construction and infrastructure works underway ahead of the planned launch by end of 2026.
