The recognition highlights Riverbed's Aternity platform, which combines endpoint telemetry, application performance monitoring, network visibility and employee sentiment into a single observability and digital experience platform.

Riverbed  has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Digital Employee Experience 2026 Vendor Assessment, with the analyst firm recognizing the company’s capabilities and long-term strategy for helping organizations deliver productive and seamless digital employee experiences.

The recognition highlights Riverbed’s Aternity platform, which combines endpoint telemetry, application performance monitoring, network visibility and employee sentiment into a single observability and digital experience platform. According to the company, the recognition validates its strategy of integrating observability, digital employee experience and AI-driven automation to support enterprise IT operations.

IDC MarketScape also cited Riverbed’s Orion agentic AI framework, introduced earlier this year, as a key differentiator. The framework extends Aternity’s analytics capabilities with governed autonomous execution and provides role-specific interfaces for employees, service desk personnel, IT engineers and technology leaders. The assessment noted that the platform embeds AI governance, policy controls and human oversight into its core architecture, providing organizations with a structured path toward autonomous IT operations.

“Enterprise AI is fundamentally changing how IT organizations operate. As organizations move from AI-assisted operations toward intelligent, autonomous execution, they need a trusted operational foundation built on comprehensive observability, digital employee experience, and responsible AI governance. We believe this recognition from the IDC MarketScape validates our long-term strategy of helping customers move beyond reactive IT toward AI-powered operations that improve employee productivity, strengthen resilience, and deliver better business outcomes.”

Richard Tworek, Chief Technology Officer, Riverbed

The IDC MarketScape further highlighted Aternity’s integrated architecture, which spans physical devices, virtual desktop infrastructure, mobile devices and frontline endpoints. By bringing together endpoint intelligence with application, network and user experience insights, the platform enables IT teams to identify and resolve issues more quickly while proactively managing digital employee experiences across increasingly complex enterprise environments.

Shannon Kalvar, Senior Research Director for Enterprise Systems Management, Enterprise Client Platforms, Observability and AIOps at IDC, said organizations are increasingly seeking platforms that combine intelligent automation with governance and human oversight. She noted that Riverbed’s recognition reflects its strategy of unifying observability, digital employee experience and governed AI automation to improve workforce productivity while supporting the transition to more autonomous IT operations.

The recognition comes amid growing enterprise demand for AI-powered platforms that enhance digital employee experiences while maintaining governance, security and operational control. Riverbed said customer adoption of its Aternity platform continues to grow globally, with annual revenue surpassing $100 million in the first quarter of 2026. During the same period, Aternity product modules reached 8.9 million installations, representing a 40% year-on-year increase. The company noted that many deployments support organizations in highly regulated sectors, including financial services, government and healthcare, where reliability, compliance and auditability are critical.
