CAMTEL and MINESUP Launch 115 Internship Opportunities to Boost Youth Employability
The internship programme follows a strategic partnership signed between CAMTEL and MINESUP on June 3, 2026, aimed at equipping students and recent graduates with practical experience to support Cameroon’s digital transformation and economic growth.
CAMTEL has launched the first wave of 115 academic and professional internship opportunities in partnership with Cameroon’s Ministry of Higher Education (MINESUP) , as part of a broader initiative to strengthen youth employability and develop digital skills.
The internship programme follows a strategic partnership signed between CAMTEL and MINESUP on June 3, 2026, aimed at equipping students and recent graduates with practical experience to support Cameroon’s digital transformation and economic growth. The latest phase of the initiative is being implemented through the National Observatory of Professions for Higher Education Graduates (OMDES), which is overseeing the recruitment process.
The programme is designed to provide students and young graduates with hands-on professional experience at Cameroon’s national telecommunications operator, allowing them to strengthen their technical and professional competencies, gain exposure to the workplace, and improve their readiness for long-term employment.
The 115 internship positions are available across CAMTEL’s operations in all ten regions of Cameroon and span a broad range of disciplines. These include telecommunications and networks, computer science and information systems, cybersecurity, communications, journalism and public relations, marketing and business development, accounting and finance, management control, human resources, law and litigation, documentation and archives, as well as administrative management and other specialised fields.
According to CAMTEL, the initiative reflects the shared commitment of the telecom operator and the Ministry of Higher Education to build stronger links between universities and industry. By aligning academic training with labour market demands, the partnership seeks to develop a workforce equipped with the skills required to support the country’s growing digital economy.
The organisations also clarified that all internship applications must be submitted exclusively through OMDES in accordance with the official Call for Expressions of Interest. CAMTEL will not accept applications directly, and prospective candidates have been advised to consult OMDES’ official communication channels for details on eligibility requirements, available positions, and application procedures.
The internship programme represents another step in Cameroon’s efforts to bridge the gap between higher education and employment while preparing young professionals for careers in the country’s rapidly evolving ICT sector.
