The milestone builds on Zain KSA’s leadership in advancing the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure, following the successful launch of Saudi Arabia’s first 5G Standalone (5G SA) network.

Zain KSA,  the leading digital services provider in Saudi Arabia, has announced the commercial rollout of 5G-Advanced (5G+), becoming the first company in the Kingdom to offer the technology to its customers.

The milestone builds on Zain KSA’s leadership in advancing the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure, following the successful launch of Saudi Arabia’s first 5G Standalone (5G SA) network.

5G+ delivers a more advanced connectivity experience, with higher speeds, lower latency, and greater network reliability. Customers will see stronger network performance across everyday applications, including ultra-HD content streaming, cloud gaming, video calls, and AI-powered services. The technology also provides more consistent performance in high-density environments, improved indoor coverage, and greater battery efficiency on 5G+ compatible devices.

The initial rollout covers Riyadh and Jeddah as part of Zain KSA’s ongoing efforts to develop its network and enhance its capabilities. This includes deploying the 600 MHz spectrum alongside other frequency bands, strengthening coverage and improving the connectivity experience, particularly indoors and in areas that require broader signal reach.

5G+ also supports overall network performance through lower latency, enhanced mobility performance, and higher upload efficiency, and increased network reliability. The technology also lays out the foundation for next-gen communications services, including Voice over New Radio (VoNR), RedCap technologies, and other innovations that will underpin future digital services.

“The commercial launch of 5G-Advanced (5G+) marks another milestone in Zain KSA’s journey to redefine the connectivity experience by bringing the world’s latest innovations into the everyday lives of our customers. This achievement reflects our continued investment in building an advanced digital infrastructure that supports the Kingdom’s ambitions while enabling individuals and businesses to unlock the growing opportunities of a digital economy, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.”

Eng. Saad bin Abdulrahman AlSadhan, Chief Executive Officer, Zain KSA

The rollout is part of Zain KSA’s strategy to build an innovation-led, future-ready digital network. It marks a new milestone in the company’s role in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and reinforces its position as a pioneer in commercializing advanced technologies, supporting the growth of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the digital economy.
