KCB Bank Kenya, Carrefour and Mastercard Launch Prepaid Card for Smarter Grocery Spending
The initiative aims to promote smarter financial management by giving customers greater visibility and control over their everyday shopping while encouraging the use of secure digital payment methods.
KCB Bank Kenya has partnered with Carrefour and Mastercard to introduce the Carrefour Prepaid Card, a new payment solution designed to help customers better manage household grocery spending while accessing exclusive shopping benefits.
The prepaid card enables customers to allocate and control grocery budgets, monitor spending on household essentials and enjoy exclusive Carrefour discounts, cashback offers and rewards. It can also be reloaded using any bank card from anywhere in the world, providing a convenient way for individuals to support family members with their grocery expenses.

John Wagacha, Head of FMCG at KCB Bank Kenya’s Corporate Banking Division, said the partnership reflects the bank’s commitment to delivering innovative payment solutions that address evolving customer needs. He noted that the prepaid card reduces reliance on cash, is supported by round-the-clock customer service and can be used across all Carrefour stores, while offering features that support better financial planning and day-to-day spending management.
