MTN South Africa Graduates 80 Youth in Digital Skills Programme
The graduates were selected from a competitive pool of 623 applicants and have received industry-relevant training designed to improve their employability and support South Africa's growing digital economy.
MTN South Africa has celebrated the graduation of 80 young people from the Western Cape who successfully completed its Digital Skills for Digital Jobs (DS4DJ) programme, equipping them with accredited qualifications in Data Analytics, Systems Development and Cybersecurity.
The graduates were selected from a competitive pool of 623 applicants and have received industry-relevant training designed to improve their employability and support South Africa’s growing digital economy. Women accounted for 63% of the graduating class, highlighting the programme’s focus on increasing female participation in technology-related fields.
The DS4DJ initiative forms part of MTN South Africa’s broader efforts to address the country’s digital skills gap while creating pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. Through the programme, participants gain accredited qualifications that prepare them for careers in high-demand digital sectors.
According to MTN South Africa, the programme has trained more than 1,600 young South Africans over the past two years through collaboration between the MTN SA Foundation, MTN Skills Academy, government, non-profit organisations, higher education institutions and training partners.
The company said the initiative demonstrates its commitment to fostering digital inclusion by providing young people with the skills needed to participate in the country’s evolving digital economy.
