SMART Zambia to Equip Luwingu Youth Resource Centre with ICT Equipment

SMART Zambia Institute  has paid a courtesy call on Luwingu District Commissioner Chomba Chileshe ahead of the planned handover of ICT equipment to the Luwingu Youth Resource Centre, reinforcing the government’s efforts to expand digital access and skills development among young people.

The delegation comprised Assistant Director of Digital Skills and Capabilities Brian Nawa Nawa, Principal Digital Skills and Capabilities Officer Chunga Manzi, Head of ICT at the Ministry of Youth and Sport Karen Hakalima, and Provincial ICT Officer Lastings Sichangwa.

During the meeting, the District Commissioner welcomed the initiative, noting that the ICT equipment will help equip local youths with essential digital literacy and technology skills. He also called for similar support to be extended to district administrations across the country through the deployment of laptops and other ICT equipment.

SMART Zambia acknowledged the request and indicated that it would be forwarded to the National Coordinator for consideration.

The ICT equipment handover forms part of the Zambian government’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and provide young people with the digital skills and competencies needed to participate in the country’s growing digital economy.
