MTN MoMo said consistent repayment can help customers increase their loan limits, strengthen their credit profiles and improve their ability to access credit when future financial needs or business opportunities arise.

MTN MoMo Uganda  has launched a financial literacy campaign aimed at helping customers better understand responsible borrowing and the benefits of timely loan repayment.

The campaign, “Borrow. Pay Back. Neela Neela.”, was launched at Kalerwe Market and focuses on educating customers about how responsible use of MoMo Loans can improve their access to digital credit over time.

Led by MTN MoMo Uganda Chief Product Officer Jemima Kariuki-Njuguna, the campaign brought together traders, entrepreneurs, merchants and customers for discussions on responsible borrowing and repayment practices.

MTN MoMo said consistent repayment can help customers increase their loan limits, strengthen their credit profiles and improve their ability to access credit when future financial needs or business opportunities arise.

The company highlighted several situations where digital credit can provide short-term support, including restocking businesses, paying school fees, meeting unexpected expenses and managing temporary financial gaps.

However, MTN MoMo stressed that the longer-term value of credit depends on how customers manage and repay their loans, with timely repayments contributing to stronger borrowing histories.

The campaign will extend financial education activities to communities across Uganda, with MTN MoMo seeking to help customers make more informed borrowing decisions, improve repayment habits and maximise the benefits of its digital lending services.
