PalmPay Expands Digital Savings Tools as Nigerians Seek More Value From Their Money

PalmPay is responding to this shift by expanding the range of financial services available through its platform. These include everyday payments, savings, bill payments, cashback opportunities and other tools aimed at helping customers manage their finances more effectively.

As rising living costs continue to put pressure on household budgets, Nigerians are becoming increasingly deliberate about how they spend, save and manage their money.

For many consumers, affordable banking is no longer defined solely by access to bank accounts or low transaction fees. It is increasingly about having financial tools that help preserve value, encourage better savings habits and enable customers to get more from their money.

PalmPay  is responding to this shift by expanding the range of financial services available through its platform. These include everyday payments, savings, bill payments, cashback opportunities and other tools aimed at helping customers manage their finances more effectively.

One of the offerings available to PalmPay users is Mega Savings Monday, provided through its third-party provider, Flexi MFB.

Savings Product Offers Up to 25% Annual Interest

Mega Savings Monday allows users to save for eight days and earn up to 25% interest per annum on their savings. Users receive their savings and applicable interest the following Tuesday, with the option to withdraw the funds or reinvest them.

The product is designed to support both short- and longer-term financial goals by encouraging users to develop a consistent savings habit while earning returns on their money.

PalmPay said the recurring savings opportunity is intended to make saving more deliberate for Nigerians who may struggle to set money aside amid competing everyday expenses.

Expanding Access to Digital Finance

Mega Savings Monday forms part of PalmPay’s wider approach to making financial services more accessible and valuable through its all-in-one platform.

Users can access services ranging from savings and payments to bill payments and cashback opportunities without having to switch between multiple platforms.

The company said its approach to affordability goes beyond transaction fees to consider the overall value customers can derive from using its platform.

“At PalmPay, we are focused on making digital finance more inclusive and valuable for Nigerians. This means giving customers convenient tools to pay, save, earn and manage their money in one place. Ultimately, we want digital finance to do more than facilitate transactions; it should help people get more value from their money and make every naira count.”

– Chika Nwosu, Managing Director, PalmPay

By bringing multiple financial tools together on one platform, PalmPay is seeking to simplify everyday financial management for different categories of users, including young professionals building savings habits, small business owners managing daily transactions and families looking to manage monthly budgets.

The company said offerings such as Mega Savings Monday, alongside its broader suite of financial services, demonstrate how digital finance can extend beyond facilitating transactions to helping customers save, access more value and manage their money more effectively.
