Safaricom and Kenya’s ODPP Partner to Strengthen Cybercrime Prosecution Capacity
The engagement brings together technical and prosecutorial expertise to support a stronger understanding of cybercrime and the evolving digital environment.
Safaricom has partnered with Kenya’s Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for a three-day training focused on strengthening expertise in cybercrime, financial technology (FinTech), digital evidence and emerging technologies.
The engagement brings together technical and prosecutorial expertise to support a stronger understanding of cybercrime and the evolving digital environment.
According to Safaricom, the training provides an avenue for practical knowledge exchange between technology and justice stakeholders, particularly as digital technologies continue to reshape how crimes are committed, investigated and prosecuted.
The company said the changing digital landscape requires corresponding improvements in how cybercrime is understood, investigated and prosecuted.
The partnership is aimed at deepening collaboration between the technology and justice sectors while building greater capacity to address emerging forms of digital crime and handle technology-related evidence.
