Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation and FEAPD Sign Three-Year Pact to Advance Disability Inclusion
The agreement was signed at Safaricom Ethiopia’s headquarters by Bethlehem Tameru, Executive Head of Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation, and Abayneh Gujo, Executive Director of FEAPD, in the presence of Andualem Admassie, Safaricom Ethiopia’s Chief External Affairs Officer.
Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation and the Federation of Ethiopian Associations of Persons with Disabilities (FEAPD) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing disability inclusion and expanding opportunities for persons with disabilities across Ethiopia.
The agreement was signed at Safaricom Ethiopia’s headquarters by Bethlehem Tameru, Executive Head of Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation, and Abayneh Gujo, Executive Director of FEAPD, in the presence of Andualem Admassie, Safaricom Ethiopia’s Chief External Affairs Officer.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in areas including digital inclusion, accessible technology, inclusive education, economic empowerment, healthcare, and advocacy for disability rights. The partnership is intended to address barriers that limit the participation of persons with disabilities in society and improve their access to essential opportunities and services.
Through the three-year partnership, Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation and FEAPD will combine their expertise, resources and networks to promote greater access to technology, education, healthcare and economic opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Karen S., Vodacom Group Accessibility Lead, who joined the signing ceremony virtually, welcomed the partnership and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaborations that promote accessibility and inclusion.
The initiative reflects Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation’s broader efforts to support a more inclusive and equitable society, while positioning digital technology as an important tool for expanding opportunities and reducing barriers for persons with disabilities.
