Ghana’s NCA Receives Four Applications for 5G Spectrum Licences

The National Communications Authority (NCA)  has announced the close of applications for spectrum licences in the 700MHz, 2.3GHz and 3GHz mid-bands for the provision of mobile broadband services, including 5G.

The deadline for the submission of applications ended at 5:00 p.m., with the NCA receiving a total of four applications for the available spectrum licences.

Following the close of submissions, the NCA formally opened Envelope A in line with the published Selection and Award Procedure. Envelope B, which contains the Best Price Offer, remains sealed as the licensing process continues.

The authority clarified that the opening of Envelope A is strictly an administrative stage of the process. It does not represent an assessment or determination of the eligibility, compliance or completeness of any of the applications received.

The NCA said further updates on the spectrum licensing process will be communicated to the public and interested stakeholders through its official communication channels.
