The strategic collaboration combines Zain KSA’s capabilities in telecommunications networks and infrastructure and digital services with DataVolt’s expertise in developing and operating high-performance data centers.

Zain KSA,  the leading provider of digital services, has announced a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DataVolt,  a global investor, developer, and operator of data centers, for a partnership to develop facilities across Saudi Arabia, supporting growing demand for cloud services, digital applications, and artificial intelligence.

The MoU was signed at LEAP 2026. The strategic collaboration combines Zain KSA’s capabilities in telecommunications networks and infrastructure and digital services with DataVolt’s expertise in developing and operating high-performance data centers. The two companies aim to expand Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure ecosystem and strengthen its readiness for rapid growth in the data economy.

The partnership will develop flexible, scalable capacity to meet Zain KSA’s future requirements, while providing additional capacity for government entities, businesses, large enterprises, cloud service providers, digital content companies, and digital platforms. It will also deliver the computing power required to run and process advanced AI applications.

The planned data centers will be designed with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, resilience, and scalability. They will also feature infrastructure capable of supporting high-density computing, advanced cooling systems, and high-capacity connectivity in line with the requirements of modern cloud services and data- and AI-driven applications.

“Developing data centers marks a strategic step in Zain KSA’s journey to expand its role as an integrated enabler of Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure. Data centers have become essential to the digital economy, cloud computing, and AI. They provide the critical link between communications networks and the computing capabilities that industries need to grow and innovate.”

Eng. Saad bin Abdulrahman AlSadhan, CEO, Zain KSA

“We are excited by the opportunities this partnership with Zain KSA presents to combine our complementary expertise to establish advanced, scalable digital infrastructure in the Kingdom. Together we will develop an integrated model that delivers energy efficient, sustainable, and reliable data centers that meet the needs of enterprises and cloud service providers.”

Rajit Nanda, CEO, Datavolt

The partnership advances the broader ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030 by helping create the conditions for a more competitive digital economy, reinforcing the Kingdom’s appeal for high-value investment in advanced technologies, and supporting its growing role as a regional technology innovation hub.

It also supports the objectives of the National Strategy for Data and AI by contributing to the development of world-class digital infrastructure and fostering the investment environment needed to accelerate the development and adoption of data and AI technologies across Saudi Arabia.
