Orange Côte d’Ivoire Warns of Legal Action After Telecom Cables Damaged in Cocody

According to the operator, the incident has disrupted fixed, mobile and internet services for more than 1,121 customers located in the Angré Djorobité 1 area.

Orange Côte d’Ivoire  has reported damage to several of its telecommunications cables in Cocody Angré Djorobité, following construction works carried out by BTP company ESPINA on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

According to the operator, the incident has disrupted fixed, mobile and internet services for more than 1,121 customers located in the Angré Djorobité 1 area.

Orange Côte d’Ivoire said its technical teams have been mobilised to restore the affected services as quickly as possible, while thanking customers for their patience during the disruption.

The company also warned that it may pursue legal action over the incident, citing repeated damage to its fibre infrastructure.

Orange Côte d’Ivoire called on construction companies and other BTP operators to exercise greater responsibility and improve coordination when carrying out works near telecommunications infrastructure.

The operator said better collaboration is necessary to prevent similar incidents and protect critical infrastructure that supports the daily activities of communities.
