Kenya-based financial services company MOGO Kenya  has participated in the 9th Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) Public-Private Sector Dialogue in Kigali, Rwanda, as financial sector stakeholders examined the role of technology in expanding access while addressing emerging financial crime risks.

MOGO Kenya was represented at the dialogue by CPA Chris Murimi, Head of Underwriting and Money Laundering Reporting Officer. The event brought together representatives from 22 ESAAMLG member states and leading financial institutions to discuss developments shaping the future of financial services.

Discussions covered technologies and processes including electronic Know Your Customer (E-KYC), digital identity, payment transparency, transaction monitoring and emerging technologies. Participants examined how financial institutions can use these tools to improve access to financial services while strengthening safeguards against evolving risks.

MOGO Kenya said the discussions reinforced the importance of integrating safeguards into financial products and processes from the outset. The company added that it continues to strengthen its capabilities in identifying risks, protecting customer information, preventing financial crime and developing financial solutions that customers can use confidently.
