Airtel Uganda Pays UGX 42.6 Billion Dividend to NSSF for 2025
The dividend payment reflects Airtel Uganda’s continued business growth and its contribution to shareholder value. NSSF has earned UGX 82.3 billion in gross dividends from its investment in Airtel Uganda over the last three years.
Airtel Uganda has handed over UGX 42.6 billion in dividends to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Speaking at the handover, Airtel Uganda Managing Director and CEO Soumendra Sahu congratulated NSSF on declaring a 22.53% interest rate for FY2025/26, the highest in the Fund’s history, with UGX 5.44 trillion set to be credited to members’ accounts.
“We have grown the network footprint, improved operational efficiencies and continued to serve our customers better, the reason we exist. That growth also allows us to take connectivity further. Last week, Airtel Uganda became the first telecommunications company in Uganda to launch satellite-powered mobile connectivity through our partnership with Starlink, taking us another step closer to connecting Ugandans in places where traditional network infrastructure has historically been difficult to deploy.”

NSSF Managing Director Patrick Ayota said the company’s performance continues to provide a long-term growth opportunity for the Fund.

The latest dividend payment comes as NSSF works toward its Vision 2035 goals, with the Fund continuing to benefit from its investment in Airtel Uganda. Airtel Uganda said it remains focused on growing responsibly, investing in Uganda and creating sustainable value for its customers, shareholders and the Ugandans whose savings are represented in the investment.
