Orange Jordan Sponsors AI Hackathon Producing 50 Working Prototypes
The initiative also aimed to support Jordan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and contribute to the country’s digital economic growth.
Orange Jordan has sponsored the Amman AI Hackathon, an initiative organized by Fikr in partnership with the international Replit platform to empower young people with digital skills and promote artificial intelligence innovation. The event brought together around 180 founders, engineers, students and recent graduates who developed 50 working prototypes over two days using Replit’s platform.
The hackathon featured two main tracks, Education Technology and Future of Work, encouraging participants to develop AI-powered solutions addressing challenges in education and professional environments. The initiative also aimed to support Jordan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and contribute to the country’s digital economic growth.
Rana Al Dababneh, Chief Corporate, Internal Communications and Sustainability Officer at Orange Jordan, highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives focused on AI applications and smart technologies. She said the hackathon aligns with the company’s commitment to promoting innovation, supporting educational and professional development, and creating new entrepreneurial opportunities.
Amer Nasereddin, General Partner at Fikr, said the initiative aims to help young people transition from using AI tools to building products with them. He noted that the partnership with Replit enables participants to turn ideas into functional applications while reducing technical barriers to product development.
The Amman AI Hackathon is the second event in a regional series that began in Jeddah, with subsequent stops planned for Dubai and Riyadh. The series aims to develop a regional network of technology builders and entrepreneurs capable of competing in global markets.
At the conclusion of the event, four winners received smart tablets sponsored by Orange Jordan, alongside Replit credits, internship opportunities, access to incubator workspaces, and mentorship sessions. These benefits are intended to help participants develop their prototypes into practical solutions and scale their projects.
