MoneyHash Partners with Ozow to Expand Online Payment Options in South Africa

The partnership allows merchants to expand the payment methods available to South African customers while managing their broader payment operations through a single orchestration platform.

MoneyHash,  a payment orchestration platform operating across emerging and global markets, has partnered with South African fintech and payments provider Ozow  to expand access to local online payment methods in South Africa.

Through the integration, businesses using MoneyHash can connect to Ozow through their existing MoneyHash integration, reducing the need to build and maintain a separate technical connection. The partnership allows merchants to expand the payment methods available to South African customers while managing their broader payment operations through a single orchestration platform.

The partnership comes as South Africa’s digital payments market continues to evolve, with businesses increasingly seeking alternatives to traditional card payments. However, managing multiple payment providers, technical integrations, reporting systems and operational processes can create additional complexity for merchants.

“Having worked within South Africa’s payments ecosystem, I’ve seen both how quickly the market has evolved and the complexity businesses face as they scale their payment operations. There is a significant opportunity for orchestration to connect strong local payment infrastructure with businesses that want to grow within South Africa and across the continent.”

– Hwan Lee, Regional Director for Africa, MoneyHash

MoneyHash’s orchestration infrastructure enables merchants to connect with and manage multiple payment processors and methods through a single platform. The Ozow integration adds another local payment provider to this infrastructure, supporting businesses operating in or expanding into South Africa.

The partnership also coincides with Ozow’s 12th year in South Africa’s digital payments market. The company offers payment capabilities including pay by bank, card payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, alongside instant payouts and withdrawals available 24/7, voucher payments and pay by crypto.

“Over the past 12 years, we’ve seen South Africa’s digital payments landscape evolve significantly, alongside growing demand from businesses for simpler and more flexible ways to accept payments. Our partnership with MoneyHash creates another avenue for merchants to access Ozow, while reducing the complexity of integrating and managing multiple payment solutions.”

– Catherine Korsten, Chief Growth Officer, Ozow

For MoneyHash, the agreement forms part of its strategy to expand its payment infrastructure across Africa by connecting merchants with established local providers and payment capabilities relevant to individual markets.

The partnership follows MoneyHash’s appointment of Hwan Lee as Regional Director for Africa. Lee previously held a leadership role at Ozow, bringing experience in South Africa’s payments sector to MoneyHash’s regional expansion.

MoneyHash provides merchants with tools for payment routing, transaction management and reporting through a unified infrastructure. The company says this approach can help global merchants access local payment capabilities more efficiently while giving South African businesses greater flexibility to manage multiple payment providers as they expand.
