Egypt Trains 10,485 University Students in Eight Technology Fields Under Summer Programme
The institute also reported that the top 200 graduates generated approximately $25,000 in freelance earnings within a short period of completing the programme, highlighting the initiative’s potential to help young people translate technical skills into income-generating opportunities.
Egypt’s National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) have recognised graduates of the Summer Training Programme 2026 after 10,485 university students across the country completed training in eight technology fields.
The recognition ceremony was held at ITIDA’s headquarters in Smart Village, with the participation of NTI Director Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khattab, ITIDA Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Al-Zaher and the authority’s Vice President for Information Technology Market Development, Mahmoud Safrata.
According to NTI, the programme reached students from all 27 governorates, with each participant receiving 120 hours of training. Of the beneficiaries, 3,807 enrolled in programmes offered by international technology academies, while approximately 1,200 trainees progressed to advanced training levels.
The institute also reported that the top 200 graduates generated approximately $25,000 in freelance earnings within a short period of completing the programme, highlighting the initiative’s potential to help young people translate technical skills into income-generating opportunities.
The ceremony recognised 44 students who obtained Fortinet certifications in cybersecurity, alongside graduates who secured freelance opportunities and teams behind the three highest-ranked graduation projects.
Participants also took part in field visits to VOIS, Valeo, Systems Egypt, Coretech Innovations, Esperti Solutions and Izam Inc. The visits were designed to familiarise students with professional work environments and potential career paths in the technology sector.
The programme forms part of broader efforts by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to strengthen the country’s digital workforce. Through its collaboration with ITIDA, NTI continues to provide young people with technical training intended to improve their employability and support their participation in the technology industry.
