The platform is designed to help authorities identify underserved areas, minimise duplication of training efforts and allocate resources more effectively.

Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA)  has launched the National Digital Literacy Dashboard to monitor the country’s digital literacy initiatives, improve coordination among training providers and support data-driven policy decisions.

The dashboard has recorded 2,769,512 reported digital literacy training achievements from 252 active reporting organisations over the past three years. Its coverage spans all 774 local government areas and 14,664 communities across Nigeria.

Cisco accounts for the largest share of reported training achievements, with 1,073,604, followed by NITDA with 960,424 and Meta Platforms Inc. with 333,816. Other contributors include Imo Digital City Limited, the Sokoto State Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, the Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy, digital development agencies in Jigawa, Kaduna and Zamfara states, and the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD).

The platform is designed to help authorities identify underserved areas, minimise duplication of training efforts and allocate resources more effectively. By consolidating reports from participating organisations, the dashboard is expected to provide a clearer picture of the reach and progress of digital literacy programmes nationwide.

The launch supports Nigeria’s digital literacy targets of reaching 70% literacy by 2027 and 95% by 2030. These goals form part of the country’s broader digital development agenda, which includes expanding digital skills and advancing technology adoption across sectors.

The dashboard provides a centralised mechanism for tracking progress towards these targets and coordinating the contributions of government agencies, private-sector companies and other digital development organisations.

The reported figures represent training achievements submitted through the platform and provide a measure of programme activity across the country.
