Through its Paratus Essential Access service, powered by Starlink satellite connectivity, the company aims to support digital health records, Social Health Authority (SHA) claims processing and telemedicine services across the facilities.

Paratus Kenya  has conducted a connectivity assessment across 160 public healthcare facilities in Kisumu County to identify gaps and support the adoption of digital health services.

The assessment was carried out in collaboration with the County Government of Kisumu, led by Governor Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, as part of efforts to strengthen digital healthcare delivery in the county.

Through its Paratus Essential Access service, powered by Starlink satellite connectivity, the company aims to support digital health records, Social Health Authority (SHA) claims processing and telemedicine services across the facilities.

Paratus is also leveraging its cloud infrastructure to support the initiative. Its Paratus Cloud platform, hosted locally at iXAfrica Data Centres in Nairobi, provides secure data hosting and AI-ready infrastructure intended to support more efficient healthcare delivery.

The Kisumu initiative builds on the company’s work in Murang’a County, where Paratus Essential Access has connected 170 healthcare facilities.

Paratus Group operates across 16 African countries, combining data centres, satellite teleports and terrestrial fibre networks. Its regional infrastructure includes the K2M fibre link connecting Kigali in Rwanda to Mombasa in Kenya.

The company said these connectivity and infrastructure capabilities are intended to bring digital services closer to communities and support the delivery of healthcare services in Kenya.
